I’m John D’Amico Jr., President of the Great Garage Company. I want to take a moment and share the story of Great Garage Company (GGC), a business my family has taken immense pride in for over 65 years.

It all started back in 1959 when my father, John Sr., saw a need for garages in Cleveland’s booming housing market. Back then, most homes weren’t built with a garage. As you probably are well aware, northeast Ohio is notorious for some rather harsh weather conditions. He saw a need, and took action!

Whenever he received a new job, he approached each project with the same mindset: build each garage with care as if it were in his own backyard. That’s the foundation we still stand on today.

In 1988, I joined my brothers, Tom and Gary, to carry forward Dad’s vision. We incorporated GGC in 1989, focusing on quality and our customers’ needs. We sit down with you, sketch plans together, and build garages we’d be proud to have ourselves. We saw too many homeowners burned by unreliable contractors, so we made a promise: You Will Be Absolutely Thrilled… or We Pay You. Guaranteed! That’s our commitment to earning your trust.

Our team grew even stronger in 2012 when my wife, Amy, joined us. What started as her helping with project drawings turned into managing permits, schedules, and more. Then, in 2023, our kids, Sam and Olivia, came on board. Sam brought his sales know-how after years in Nashville, and Olivia, a former teacher, couldn’t resist joining the family legacy. Their energy keeps us innovating while staying true to our roots.
